Do you remember your first football road trip?

West Virginia makes their first trip to Lubbock in over 74 years for their Inaugural Big XII game in Jones AT&T Stadium this Saturday. Let's get loud and show the Mountaineers how tough it is to play in Lubbock. Which got me thinking...

Do you remember your first football road trip away from the Jones? Did you Gig 'Em in College Station? Drive to Fort Worth to feast on Horned Frog? Travel to Austin for the classic Football Game-6th Street combination (in which case, you may not remember much)?

Tell us about your first football road trip and you could win one of our limited edition Homecoming/Inaugural Game shirts in your size. Winners will be notified by email, so be sure to include your address. Five winners will be selected before Friday at noon, so get your stories in soon.

Also, don't forget to look for your official Road Trip tee in stores next week.  Essential gear for the Red Raider making the journey to Fort Worth next weekend to take on TCU. Guns Up!

First away trip was pretty much a bad one; at least as far as the travel part was concerned. I was a freshman in the Goin' Band and we were making a day trip to TCU. Unfortunately for us, our bus company was having a bad day. We left Lubbock with 8 buses. We had reserved 9. A section of us arrived late to the stadium because the bus drivers of our 2 buses got lost.

Halftime was a major plus, though, and we rocked out through the game. Even though TCU beat us in football, the Goin' Band, once again, won halftime. TCU fans/band were incredibly gracious to us and congratulated us on a great halftime performance.

Heading back, 5 of the 9 buses broke down at some point during the trip and we didn't really get home all at the same time. One of the buses was left near the railroad tracks by Slaton.

First one in life? My parents took me to a game in a snowsuit when I was about 8 months old...

In college? To Norman in 2002 after we had beaten Texas... The trip was fun, the game not so much.
